Uganda

Uganda, the 'Pearl of Africa,' is crafted in stillness and strength. Along the banks of the Nile, papyrus becomes woven baskets and bold mats, while bark cloth - once worn by royalty - continues to be harvested, softened, and shaped into sacred forms.

In the hills of Bugisu, Arabica coffee cherries are hand-picked, sun-dried, and roasted into richness. Across the land, banana fibres are twisted into art, drums are carved from a single log, and clay becomes both utility and expression. In Uganda, every craft carries memory - of community, of resilience, of a land abundant in skill.

'The Pearl of Africa, gleaming and grand,
Where rivers run free through a fertile land.
Home to gorillas and skies wide and blue,
With hearts full of hope and a spirit true.'
